Forest certification
In Belarus, within the framework of the National Conformity Assessment System of the Republic of Belarus, certification of forest management and forest using systems, certification of forest products on the basis of origin is carried out.
The forest certification system of Belarus in 2017 was repeatedly recognized and approved by the PEFC Council (Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) – an international organization for the recognition of national forest certification systems and schemes, as meeting the requirements of PEFC.
According to the results of the work on certification of the forest management systems and forest using, certification of the forest products on the basis of origin, certificates of conformity are issued that have international status.
During certification of the forest management system and forest use, the compliance of the forest management system and forest management with normative legal acts and technical regulatory legal acts establishing requirements for managing forests and forest resources and extracting useful properties of the forests for specific purposes is documented.
During certifying forest products and products of their processing on the basis of origin, they are documented by their origin from forests certified in accordance with the requirements of the National Conformity Assessment System of the Republic of Belarus, the requirements of the PEFC Council and the fact that during the manufacturing process, accounting and registration of all changes in forest products in the process of passing from the forest to the consumer, providing a transition from information about the origin of the raw materials purchased by the organization to deformations of the origin of the products produced using the same.
Certification of the forest management systems and forest management, certification of the forest products and their products on the basis of origin is carried out on a voluntary basis on the initiative of legal entities – applicants (groups of legal entities) by concluding an agreement between them and the certification body.
All work on the certification of the forest management systems and forest management, forest products and products of their processing on the basis of origin is paid by the applicant.
